    “Its is nice to know the boys have someone to look after them as you have, I do not seek to replace you mind you, more to provide teaching of Krom and the martial ways of my order. I feel this part of town is left to fend for itself and that is where we will stand up against the things that go bump in the night.
    Tell me old man are there any pupils that stand out above the rest?”

    What of the boys? Have they been drawing interest on things happening About? Any of them stand out to you?
    I am sending word back to my order to request they send some missionaries and a priest to help out here and teach the boys the full meaning of croms grace.

    Stern looks up forearms still resting on his knees.

    “Oh Hello old man, I didn’t hear you come in. I am just lost in thought, there are still many things to do around here and lucky for us there are many idle hands to help in that matter. Say, I have been gone for a bit, before I left remember the incident with the boys sneaking off to the tavern and that devil Grey and I discovered? Have there been any other occurrences or other similar incidents happening around here? These spirit folk intrigue me just a tad.”

    “Brother, there is still much evil in this land, there may still be more places like Shenling that may require the services of our somewhat specialized trade. Yet we still have duties at home, you your manor and the politics that play there and I the orphanage that I have to attend to. I think we have a trek ahead back home, There are people to assure that order has been restored here in the south. Maybe take some time at home and see what Krom has in store for us. One thing is for certain, Krom favors us and our path.”

    Stern is in his white robes looking like that of an abbey monk. A pair of Silk stoles, one blue rimmed with Blue sigils of his people and another one red rimmed with markings to that of Krom around his neck. Stern holds a simple brown clay tea cup on which he has etched the symbol of this land, of Shenling.
    He approaches the Lords table. He bows respectfully.

    “In this land there are many faiths, and we must honor them all. In these times I must pay respect to the Battles that have been fought. And to that, Krom does not win battles, he helps the deserving warrior win battles. War is fair in that it oppresses and aids all equally and that in any given battle, a mortal may be slain or become a great leader among his or her companions. It should not be feared, but seen as a natural force, the storm that civilization brings by its very existence. Arm all for whom battle is needful, even foes. Retreat from hopeless fights but never avoid battle. Slay one foe decisively and halt a battle quickly rather than rely upon slow attrition or the senseless dragging on of hostilities. Remember the dead that fell before you. Defend what you believe in, lest it be swept away. Disparage no foe and respect all, for valor blazes in all regardless of age, sex, or race. Krom looks with favor upon those that acquit themselves honorably in battle without resorting to such craven tricks as destroying homes, family, or livestock when a foe is away or attacking from the rear (except when such an attack is launched by a small band against foes of vastly superior numbers). Consider the consequences of the violence of war, and do not wage war recklessly. The smooth-tongued and fleet of feet that avoid all strife and never defend their beliefs wreak more harm than the most energetic tyrant, raider, or horde leader.”

    Intrigued, stern leans in just a bit. “Not many know of my people, Yes it is true we have a connection not so much with common written word but more deeper to that of arcane words and symbols These…” as he lets his sigils illuminate and points to them “These are tied to my very soul, they are as much apart of me as breath is to you. Stern looks deep into the burning coals of the fire “When I was young I was drawn if you will into this path that Crom has chosen for me. Natural, gifted, CHOSEN… These were all words that were used to describe me in the monasteries of the Kabals during my formative years as a young acolyte. It is times like these past days where I see the Strength of our gods beholden in the spirits of the people fighting side by side that I know we have been chosen… Hand selected if you will, by our gods to achieve victory for the greater good. So although my people have a bend for the more Arcane I was chosen to lead a different path.”

    “Thank you Keeper, As we are uncertain as to our day of departure we appreciate your humble hospitality. We will be staying a short while to ensure we have done what we can for the people here. I am sure that Caris has much more to do here than I or these guys (Gestures to Hroth and Grog). When we are more formal in our plans we will be sure to keep you abreast of any changes.”
