So cheery and joyful, that one…” Hroth says with a smile nodding towards Grey’s direction. “You should see him in a bad mood…”

“Well, Fools or not, We did do good work this day, and deserve the night to celebrate it and feel good of ourselves before we allow Grey his chance to ruin that for us tomorrow. Let us go.

Hrothgard motions for his companions to head towards town with him and hopefully find an Inn to drink the night away.

Hrothgard stands as cheers as they ride away into the dark night, then turning to his comrades, who all laugh at him. He looks around as others do too.

“What? I knew she was joking! I played into it, is all!” he insists, as the countless soldiers continue laughing. Hrothgard draws his swords and twirls them masterfully in his hands…

“Time for fun, then. Who wishes to dual me?” He says with a smile as the men all quiet their laughter and back away. Hrothgard then breaking into laughter himself as he re-sheathes the large swords.

Hrothgard sits up and takes to a knee again, bowing his head in both awe and fear towards the Unicorn.

“I am sorry, Great Spirit. I meant no disrespect, I assure you. I merely thought that… I… do not know what I thought. I humbly request your forgiveness, Great Spirit…”

Hrothgard says quietly, but loudly enough for her to hear. He keeps his head down, avoiding eye contact.

Hrothgard, with a new-found respect and admiration for the Spirits and Gods of these lands, also takes to a respectful knee before the Great Unicorn Spirit, looking to her with awe-filled eyes and remaining quiet in contemplation as Grey speaks. When Grey finishes, and takes his seat Hrothgard rises, clasping hands with Grey and offering him a respectful nod of approval.

“You as well, my friend” Grey says to Hrothgard with a crooked smile, knowing Hroth well enough to know that his eyes, his body language, his grasp… everything about him said to Grey “Thank you, friend. As always, you fought well, and it was an honor to do so beside you.” Though Hrothgard never had the chance to actually vocalize the words themselves he smiles and nods to Grey who read him perfectly. “Now, leave me be…” Grey smiles and waves his hand, shooing Hrothgard away. The mighty warrior laughs as he turns and makes his way to Stern, Grognak, and Caris, offering them all hugs and saying to them all what he meant to say to Grey as well.

“This was a well-earned victory.” He says, then turns to Caris. “I agree with Grey. Saddle up. Let all in these lands see you with her. You’ve earned that… as have the people.” He gives her a friendly kiss and finds himself a tree to also lean against and clean himself off, wiping blood from his face. He pulls his flask and takes a long drink from it as he cleans his armor and weapons.

His eyes meet Shanzee’s and he smiles and nods to her, welcoming her over if she wishes… (( assuming Shanzee is my hot Monk chick. If not, then just ignore this last paragraph altogether! 🙂 ))

I’m good with either. I just want to make sure we’re somewhere in a good starting position to pick it up tomorrow night.

Hrothgard nods to Stern, and follows Grognak out quietly, leaving them to their business.

Hrothgard also approaches slowly, nodding to them. Not making the first move, but leaving himself open to being approached…

Hrothgard looks to Grey and nods. “Thank you…” he says, still confused but even more calm and relaxed. Seeming anxious now. Anxious to learn exactly what just happened to him and what he is feeling. He then nods to Grey.

“Yes my friend. I agree. Let us head that way.” He says agreeing. He likely would have agreed with anything Grey said to him at that time.

Hrothgard feels his armor, even reaching underneath as best he can to feel the skin on his chest as it still itches, even burns just a bit. Not enough to cause pain. Not even discomfort. Just enough to remind you that it is there… but what? What is “IT?”

Hrothgard looks almost afraid. But he is actually quite calm. Just confused to point of it looking like fear. Calmly he turns to Grey.

“What just happened, my friend?” He asks Grey, staring intently into his eyes for a hopeful answer. “You, of all of us, might have a better understanding of… what… is happening…” he says now looking down towards his chest, still trying to reach in his armor to look.

    Hrothgard, still bowing, speaks softly;

“Thank you Great Spirit, Fang Quiang. I am forever in your service for all of your help…” (( Dear DM – Hint Hint – Mind made up now with this!! You know what I’m talking about! 😉 ))

Hrothgard rises slowly, raising his eyes towards the great spirit, still saluting then nodding to Grognak.

Hrothgard takes to one knee when he sees Fang Quiang, bowing his head, and placing one arm across his chest as in a saluting motion of respect.

“Great Spirit, Fang Quiang…” he says to him in greeting.

    February 13, 2015 at 2:46 pm #1143

“Yes. I hope that I am…” Hrothgard replies with a slight sigh. “But I’ve no reason not to trust Fang Quiang after what he did for me. I hope that I am right…”

    February 13, 2015 at 11:56 am #1137

Hrothgard nods a bit. “Fang Quiang. Old Black Stripe. He will help us. I am sure of it. Perhaps I should not be so sure… but I am.” Hrothgard adds matter-of-factly.

As the others discuss options, Hrothgard takes a quiet moment to himself to do the only thing he can think of; ask for help from the spirit world.

“Great Fang Quiang, Spirit of the Mountain, I know not if you can hear me from here… but if you can, I could use your guidance once more. We are locked between the two worlds you seem to so simply pass from one to the next – the world of the spirits, and the world of man. Can you offer assistance? A sign? Anything…?” Hrothgard sighs. “Can you even hear me…?”

I’m mostly replying to A) See exactly how to do so, and B) Let the DM know that I have been here. In essence, I am merely lifting my leg on this thread to mark it with my presence.

Thank you for the info, DM! Good stuff to know!
